Every day, many cats are abandoned in the streets, left to themselves and wandering without owners. In the land of the rising sun, the alarm is sounded. In order to make the phenomenon better known, but also to encourage the population to adopt, a malicious and cute initiative has been created ... which will make the happiness, no doubt, of many of us.
This is happening in the city ofOgaki, more precisely in the prefecture of Gifu. On September 10, 2017, a non-governmental organization called Kitten Cafe Sanctuary, allied with the railway companyYoro Railway Co Ltd to let "roam" a thirty cats in a local train.
On the occasion of this event, they hoped that it would help to sensitize the population on the alarming situation of stray cats, or abandoned in the streets.
The passengers of the train were welcomed by these little companions for the whole trip, where some could to play with the felines, and of course, have been able towheedleat will. "It's good that people are becoming more aware of the situation, and feel concerned about the subject, thanks to an event such as this one. " saidMikiko Hayashi, a traveler who, himself, adopted two stray cats.
Indeed, the number of cats admitted to shelters at Japan dropped about 70%72,000 in 2016 compared to 237,000 in 2004. This has reduced the number of cats welcomed in households from 239,000 in 2004 to 45,500 in 2016. Given that the feline population in Japan is approximately 10 millions... the calculation is done quickly and the problem is urgent.
So to counter this concern, we find this creative, original and effective solution! And above all ... it's still super cute. An initiative that obviously reminds us of the idea of this store IKEA in Italy who opens its doors to abandoned dogs to protect them from the cold.
