This photographer captures the personality of animals with minimalist and striking portraits

For the photographer Randal Fordeach animal has a story to tell. Through their facial expressions or simply their look, the animals are able to let emotions extremely strong. Passionate about the animal world, our photographer of the day offers them a great tribute through minimalist portraits of incredible accuracy.

Randal Ford embarked on a project called "The Animal Kingdom". The idea: put forward, in a magnificent work, beautiful portraits minimalist ofwild animalss who let their emotions and their personality. And Randal Ford has a style of his own: each of the animal pictures was made on a black or white background, the artist's trademark. He explains himself perfectly on this subject:

It is a deconstructivist approach to portraiture. This minimalist aesthetic encourages us to observe subjects without distractions. It focuses on generating emotions.

For example, the lazy side of the chimpanzee is perfectly illustrated with the lassively lying animal. In contrast, the tiger and the Lion sport a pose absolutely majestic characteristic of these felines. And as you can imagine, behind each photo, hides a job gigantic. He does not try to dictate or guide the animal, he waits patiently to take the picture at the appropriate time and thus preserve the most natural expression possible.

During the shooting process, it is not uncommon for an animal to let you see its personality. My need to stay focused is imperative to capture that split second during which the animal will reveal itself. We love them, we respect them, but we can not control them. It's up to them to decide the story that will be told.
